Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Interactions with 2 cashiers at Prospect Store,Louisville,Ky.
- - A staff member has cared for us for years, always friendly.
- - On 7/19/26 a staff member gave a warm greeting, the first in 30+ years of Kroger shopping.
This is a compliment to two fine ladies that work as cashiers.
1st Brenda has taken care of us for past 5 or so years.
Always pleasant and friendly.
2nd on 7/19/26 Angel waited on us, and her 1st words stunned me. "Welcome to Kroger, how may I help you!"
I told Angel in 30 plus years of shopping at various Kroger stores this was a 1st.
Great job ladies.

Verified Reviewer |I am a pissed consumer
Sale items not available. This is normal for Kroger and We are tired of it. That and inside of potatoes are rotten every time I buy them from ***
Preferred solution: I would like to buy my rib roast that you advertised $8.96 /lb I went to 4 stores and none had any.
Told the didn’t need my money
- - Concerns about the fence/gate system and armed guards at doors.
- - Will stop shopping there and asks others to complain.
Called to voice my opinion about the new fence/gate system, they have put in. On top of the armed security guard at every door.
My opinion is they should not attack us. The normal shoppers who come there multiple times a week. And spent thousands of our hard earned money, yearly. I called to tell them that I am pretty much done shopping there and they will no longer get my family's business.
I said that they should go after our government who is allowed the theft and nonstop of the thieves to thrive and to quit attacking us family people. It is not fair that we have to go to a store with our children and get checked out by an armed security guard inside a gated fenced area. The manager on duty told me Kroger will survive in a real snotty way. She said they don't need my business.
I am absolutely appalled at their practices and how I was treated by the so-called manager named Kimberly!!! I hope more people in Puyallup call and complain, or just quit shopping here.
User's recommendation: Go elsewhere

Verified Reviewer |Refund
- - Did not receive free items from the buy 2, get 2 Fritos sale.
- - Refund attempts were hindered by unavailable customer service on multiple visits.
I used the buy 2, get 2 sale on Fritos, but I didn't get the free ones. I've been trying to get a refund, but no one ever seems to be working the customer service desk.
I went back twice - at 8 a.m. one day and then at 9 a.m. the next. I was then told by another customer service representative that they come in sometime between 11 and 12.
At this point, I think the manager should have assisted us or taken care of the issue himself (even Walmart makes the manager assist). I do not feel this company cares about customer service.
I can't help but wonder how much they make daily from items not being rang up correctly that customers don't notice. My time is important, and I shouldn't have to guess when someone can assist me.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: If you appreciate customer service don't shop here.
Have a question regarding Ralph’s grocery store return policy
- - An unexpected emergency forced me to leave town and return groceries.
- - Kroger customer service confirmed returns within 30 days with Ralphs; I got a refund.
I was able to return groceries after an unexpected emergency making it necessary to leave town. After manager telling me no returns were store policy i called krogers customer service they confirmed krogers policy (yes within 30 days) with Ralphs store and I was able to return and get refund for the groceries.
User's recommendation: If in doubt call krogers their service was fair and the service rep was very kind and knowledgeable
Returned goods
I was told by store no returns. Called Kroger customer service and confirmed policy that allows returns called store back and return was given

Verified ReviewerDelivery issues with Atlanta area stores
- - Atlanta deliveries changed since May.
- - Instacart wine delivery isn't available and I can't connect with my Instacart shopper.
I have been a longtime customer of Kroger. However, since May, the deliveries in the Atlanta area have undergone changes that are not happening in other states.
I can no longer have wine delivered by Instacart and when I place an order on the app for delivery, I can no longer connect with my Instacart shopper.
I have contacted your customer service and they have been of no help. I need help from someone at the local level for some answers.
Preferred solution: Speak to a person at my local level
Trying to change phone number and email address for my pick up orders
- - Online site won't let me change pickup info due to technical problems.
- - Store says changes must go through corporate.
- - Kroger app shows old info; I can't shop Kroger.
I am having problems in the on line site to change information for my pick up account.
keeps saying technical problems try back later..
went to store, she advised can only do it through corporate.
the customer service number keeps trying to give me free merchandise
I went on the Kroger app to order groceries and it still has my old information. so I will not be able to shop Kroger anymore

Verified ReviewerMy debit card was compromised in the amount of $363 taken for a $61 grocery order may 18 2024
- - Baker's charged $363 vs $61; urgent reimbursement; four holds with no explanation and a 5–10 day timeline.
Hi, I have a pressing issue and I cannot afford to wait up to ten business days to get my social security retirement benefit money back! I am 63 & I use the delivery grocery services in Omaha Nebraska, Baker's grocery store.
I purchased groceries on May 18 . My receipt online was for $61 dollars. I've never had any problems with the dollar amount charged for my debit purchases @ Baker's before this incident. .
@ least not until I discovered that I barely have enough money to live on for a week! I called the customer service # as soon as I discovered the discrepancy to ask for a reimbursement of the $363 that was taken out of my account. I was put on hold 4 times, & with out an explanation as to why this happened, or how? And not even an apology for the hardship this is causing me!
The man I spoke to didn't seem like he understood what I was talking about, and seemed pretty much unconcerned. A few times I had to ask if he were still on the phone? This is an emergency situation for me! I have utility bills that are processed electronically through direct express!
This customer support person finally after the 4th hold, came on the line & told me a different amount that Baker's charged than what my bank statement has shown .This person told me they would reimburse $234 in 5-10 business days! WTH?!! I am out $363 & Direct Express can't do anything unless I don't receive the reimbursement, then I would have to file it as fraud, & that would take 60-90 days to dispute! I did not create this situation!
But Iam certainly the victim for whatever reason , I'm considering getting a new debit card, because I simply don't know if my card # was hacked! I want my debit card reimbursed ASAP! I think the payment could be expedited in this set of circumstances. I'm facing added fees for payments not being able to be processed!
So I need this taken care of way sooner than that 10 day time frame! I have been a boost member for 7 months & more often than not, My items that I placed an order for are mysteriously cancelled for no reason! I know I don't cancel anything, but I never get any explanation. Recently, I ordered 4 banana's and received only one that was almost too ripe!
Why? Where are the so called shoppers or pickers getting the orders from? Doesn't make any sense! So I want to opt out of this membership as well.
This latest incident is too much for me to trust in this service anymore. Please! Can someone help me get my money reimbursed sooner? Thank you!
Best regards, Janice Kent. Case # 6961**** per customer SVC.
User's recommendation: I think the best thing anyone can do, is to try out a few other grocery delivery service's on a 2 wk trial before you decide to shell out $99-$155 a yr. Yeah, the service is a little pricey! I only tried Baker's Boost membership because they offered it @ $12.99 a mont, they just raised the price to $14.22! Service has gotten worse, but they raise the membership fee anyway! Lol!. I have to say, when I first got started with their insta cart service, they had your entire order, nothing missing! If you didn't receive an item you ordered , they would give you a print out of your itemized order & it would tell you if that missing item was out of stock! So, there was no wondering if your item was out of stock, or cancelled etc. And I know this is kinda silly, but the grocery sacks were great! Not those flimsy brown grocery bags! These bags were white, larger, & stronger handles! Just as I got used to all of this, it stopped! Idk what that was all about! theyrvices

- - It is hard to reach a real person by phone.
- - Calls end with disconnections or long holds.
- - Drivers are praised as a positive reason to use Kroger.
It is impossible to get in touch with an actual person. It's frustrating when I make several attempts to call, only to be disconnected or left on hold eternally. If it wasn't for their amazing drivers, I would never use Kroger again!
- Drivers are amazing
- Poor customer service always out of many items

Verified Reviewer |Unsatisfied with store managemenet
- - Six dogs were in the store; none were service dogs.
- - Cashiers upset about dogs in baskets.
- - Manager had no response; Kroger must address problem.
On my recent visit, I observed six dogs inside the store. None of these dogs were service dogs.
If they were emotional comfort dogs, they are not allowed in the store. Even the cashiers were upset that some customers put their dogs in the baskets.
I spoke to the store manager and he had no response to the problem. Kroger management must address this problem or it will only get worse.
Preferred solution: An enforcement of law that prohibits dogs in a retail food market.
User's recommendation: I will not shop here again until they have addressed the problem.
You pay for groceries to be picked up at 1:00. Now have been waiting at the store since 7:17, it is now 8:10 and, guess what, no groceries. Most people would call that stealing. Kroger calls it good c
- - Kroger takes money but doesn't provide groceries.
- - The reviewer says Kroger is unethical.
- - They think Kroger's merger could fail.
See above. Kroger will take your money but they have NO intention of being an honest company and giving you your groceries.
Kroger is nothing but an example of why they hopefully will fail under their merger.
Unethical people who dont care.

Verified ReviewerComplaint about new grocery carts
- - The new Smith's carts at East Lake Mead remove the bottom for bulk items, especially bottled water.
- - It makes it hard to carry water with groceries.
Hi,
I am sending this to you about the new grocery carts at the new Smith's store on East Lake Mead in Henderson, Nevada. Whoever designed these new carts should be fired.
They took the bottom out of the cart for bulk products, especially bottled water. The workers in the store can't believe it.
It is the dumbest thing that I have ever seen. I will be going back to my other store because I won't try to push two carts because I can't carry water with my other groceries.
User's recommendation: If you need cases of water, good luck because the bottom of the cart is mostly gone so you can't fit any bulk products in the bottom of the cart like you used to.

Verified ReviewerTaking my business elsewhere…
- - 30+ yrs at Fred Meyer Shelton; leaving due to blocked aisles.
- - Aisles blocked by displays reduce accessibility for handicapped shoppers.
After my 6:25am grocery shopping this morning, at my usual (over 30 yrs) Fred Meyer store in Shelton, Wa., I am going elsewhere. Keep your shelves stocked with what people buy, but quit shoving them in our face and blocking our way up and down the aisles!!!
The recent decision to do additional displays sticking out in the aisles makes it extremely difficult! Makes it a single cart aisle every few feet and in some instances, impossible for a handicap person riding a store cart. Not only are we suffering from outrageous increases, like $5 for box of Wheat Thins, but now you make it even more difficult for us to even access your products. I consider myself a courteous, friendly shopper but this morning I could not leave the store without voicing my frustration with mgmt.
What you are doing is forcing people to order online. And by doing that, all the spontaneous items I normally would buy, will not be purchased. Consequently, one spends less! So, are you really winning this inflation battle?
I live on Social Security, so I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Somewhere that is more shopper friendly!!! Signed a very disgruntled senior citizen in Washington state.

Your local Kroger manager cannot change anything about the new fence/gate thing you are complaining about. Those decisions are made at the corporate level.
You waster her time and your own. Leave the manager alone about decisions made by corporate and complain to them instead.
